About the AbbVie Study

To test the effectiveness of this treatment option, we at ARH Research are enrolling for a 78-week study. Our research professionals will conduct this study for participants at our clinic in The Woodlands, TX. Since this is an investigational drug, it has not received FDA approval and is not approved to treat rheumatoid arthritis or other conditions.

The aim of this sponsored clinical trial is to help determine the drug’s effectiveness and potential adverse effects. When we reach the end of the study, the final data is presented to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for review. The final goal is gaining FDA approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

How is the study conducted?

Qualified candidates will enter a treatment group or a placebo group to determine the drug’s effectiveness. The study will be blinded, preventing the physician and research staff from knowing if it is the study drug or placebo.

If a subject is in a placebo group, they transfer to the treatment group at week 12 for the remainder of the trial. Participants will also receive a monetary stipend at each completed study visit. The stipend is to offset travel or other expenses incurred (such as childcare) for the patient to attend required study visits.

What should I expect if I  participate?

To take part in this clinical trial, you will need to sign a consent form agreeing to participate in study visits and treatment options. Once you choose to participate, you will attend study visits every two weeks.

What happens during each visit?

Subjects are given the study drug every two weeks in pre-filled syringes. Each visit, three injections are given in the lower abdomen or thigh area.

You will have blood samples drawn, answer questionnaires, and receive the study drug at these visits. Additionally, you will receive periodic exams from a physician to determine the effects of the drug treatment on your health.

About The Qualification Process

If you want to take part in this clinical trial, you will need to pass an in-depth qualification process by our research team. All participants must be between the age of 18 to 75 years old. Before moving forward with the qualification steps, a clinical research team member will provide a quick screening through email or phone call to determine if you qualify.

For applicants that seem like a good match for the trial, we will move forward with a medical history examination, chest x-rays, ECG, and a collection of blood samples. We want to ensure you are the ideal candidate to participate in our investigational clinical study with AbbVie for 78-weeks.
